Ooh, it looked so tempting, maybe she shouldn't, but it was just too hard to resist. It was staring straight at her. The little kit had found dirt to play with. Maybe it was good for her to get it out of her system now, since she had not had her daily bath yet. How she had avoided that she didn't know. Lilykit gave up the battle and was soon rolling around and around in the dirt, mewling with delight. The thought then struck her. Where was her mother? She felt a little scared now, she wanted nothing more than to be right by her mother's side.
The little kit was now frightened, without her mother how could she function? She was usually always right beside mommy, but where was Lilystream now? Letting out a little mewl of distress she looked around the camp. She couldn't see her mommy anywhere. And where were her brothers? Great, just great, she was all alone. How was she suppose to do anything now? Shuddering, the four moon old kit felt completely lost. Mommy was gone, and she was too upset to try and follow her scent.
Lilykit, though two moons away from apprenticeship, knew how to distinguish her mother's scent easily. When her mother was anywhere close, the little kit knew and would instantly flock to Lilystream. Even if Lilystream was a little way out of camp, she could usually follow it and find her. Either she was getting a cold, or just having an off day, Lilykit couldn't find her mother. Or was her mother so far away no one could find her. Surely she wouldn't abandon her and her brothers?
Curling her tail around her body, Lilykit decided to lay down. She flattened herself against the ground, and her ears were flat against her head. Not being around her mother depressed the little kit. She just wanted her mommy, was that too much to ask?

The blue eyed deputy to padded into the camp lazily. Her jaws were hung wide in a yawn. Most mothers would still in the nursery with their kits, but not Lilystream. She was the deputy, and she had duties to attend to. She had to organize patrols, and go on patrols herself. She had to keep the peace with Lightenstar wasn't around. Lilystream adored her kits, but she couldn't always be there for them like most mothers could. For a time she had considered giving up her position as deputy, but in the end she couldn't bring herself to. StarClan had chosen her to be the deputy of MarshClan, and maybe to eventually lead it, and that was exactly what she would do. She loved her kits as much as any queen, she just wasn't the average queen.
She looked around the camp and realized that it was pretty much empty. She opened to jaws and scented her daughter. Poor Lilykit was more depended on her than her brothers. Lilystream knew that it would be easier if they had a father, but... She shoved the thoughts from her head as her heart ached for her lost mate. She had loved him so much that she'd agreed to put her duties aside and have kits with him, but he was gone now.. And there was nothing she could do about it. Lilystream's ears perked when her daughters pitiful mewls entered them. Instantly fear and worry entered her blue eyes and she padded quickly toward her daughter.
When she reached her, though, she realized that she was just being a lonely kit. She smiled a bit as she realized how dirty her little girl was. She wrapped her tail around her and pulled her close. Most four moon old kits didn't need nor want their mothers to be close to them, but she knew how attached to her Lilykit was. "What's the matter, dearest?" She questioned softly.
