Her unique crystal blue pools gazed out past the large lake that thrived at the heart of all the clans. Though in body she remained upon the shore, at mind she was elsewhere. She gazed up at the half-night sky, one end the sun was kissing the horizon, the other end the moon was awakening for her shift. Her mind danced across the sky, searching, but having no clue what she was searching for. Her long tail twisted and arched with a mind of its own, as if bored with her endless thoughts. She knew that a part of her was missing, and that somewhere out there the answers waited, but she, in some way, feared what the truth would bring her. She couldn't help but feel that she was meant for something big, much bigger than what world she lived in now, she sat now pondering about what could possibly lie behind the hidden barriers of the territories, yet to ask one such a question felt forbidden.
Silence surrounded her, all she could hear was the life within her chest and veins, the gentle kiss of the lake's breath, and the earth beneath her petite paws. She glanced at the sky once more, accepting that it was time to lock her thoughts in the back of her mind, and return to gathering food for the clan. Goodnight, she whispered to the sun, as it made its final advancement past the horizon.

RABBITSTAR OF MARSHCLAN, "Rabbit is speaking!" | Rabbit is thinking! | Narrator
The sun was going down and the moon was rising. It was a seemingly beautiful night for leaf-fall. In the camp though, it was harder to see the beauty in the sky. It was always harder to see everything from inside the camp. The night patrols would be setting out for one last patrol till the morning and Rabbitstar had placed herself on the hunting patrol. But then she re-thought it over. She wanted time to herself. She wasn't the most busy leader but she never had a true reason to leave the camp for any length of time. So instead of worrying about her Clan she set off out of camp to hunt on her own. It wasn't long till she got a good whiff of a mouse near by. She went down on her belly, dragging it along and slowly moving closer toward it. The mouse appeared to have not seen the brown tabby she-cat until it was too late. She pounced on it, ending its life. The mouse was small and not much to it. MarshClan was lacking prey badly and the ones they did manage to find were tiny and barely enough for a kit to eat. But she hid the mouse and continue to pad along, heading toward the Great Lake.
Her steel blue eyes moved over the forest, begging StarClan for just one more mouse to take back to camp. One that would feed a couple of apprentices at least. She tasted the air but caught the scent of a clanmate instead of prey. It was strong and may have overpowered any other sents, though, Rabbitstar just wondered why a cat was out here and not with a patrol. She quickened her pace till Phoenixbreeze came into the picture. She was a fairly ordinary cat, Rabbitstar thought. But she was apart of MarshClan, giving her the best ancestors, in Rabbitstar's opinion. Her steel blue eyes hardened for a moment and her usual expression still plastered on her face. She made her way toward the she-cat, still wondering what she was doing. "Phoenixbreeze, what are you doing?" Her voice was not angry but flat. She didn't really like it when one or any of her clanmates were not doing something. So she was curious because one less warrior working was less prey coming back to camp.

Just as she was preparing herself to return to her hunting the scent of her clan leader surprised her, alerting her of her clan leader's presence. "Rabbitstar," She quickly stumbled upon her name. "Please forgive me, I was simply gazing upon starclan, and silently repeating my nightly prayers." She shifted her petite form and stood in a relaxed position, her crystal blue pools softly resting themselves upon Rabbitstar. "But do not think I have not done my duty, I simply just haven't finished, my clan always comes first" she added as she gently pushed a wet life form closer to her leader. "Trout, I believe, not the biggest, but I thought it might do..."
She never finished her sentence though, it faded with the air that escaped her lungs as she let out a small sigh. "I do apologize once more, Rabbitstar, for not working harder, I promise you I will never fall of task again." Her tail flicked, slightly angry at herself, and she waiting in silence for the reply of her clan leader. To disrespect her was the last thing she had meant to do. How was she to prove herself to her clan, if she couldn't even follow her duty?

RABBITSTAR OF MARSHCLAN, "Rabbit is speaking!" | Rabbit is thinking! | Narrator
Rabbitstar listened to the warrior explain and apologize why she was just sitting around instead of hunting or patrolling. Rabbitstar wasn't keen on slackers and she never figured Phoenixbreeze would be the type. She was pretty quiet, distant sometimes, Rabbitstar seen in her eyes from time to time. But who wasn't these days with a lack of prey and leaf-bare so close? Even Rabbitstar had caught herself staring off into StarClan knows where. It was a habit she wasn't going to start. Her stern look softened a bit. Phoenixbreeze had been praying to StarClan? But for what? Maybe for prey to come back? The leader didn't want to as such a personal question, especially since she wasn't too terribly interested in the answer but instead so accepted the she-cat's apology.
"You work exceptionally well, Phoenixbreeze, no need to apologize twice." Her voice had softened but still held her leadership tone as she always did. Some days she wondered if she was truly capable of running MarshClan and if she was doing a good job. But most of the time she never thought much about it. "That will make for a good meal, Phoenixbreeze." She looked down at the first the she-cat caught and was impressed. If it was thing Rabbitstar wasn't terribly good at it was fishing. "Leave the fishing to FrostClan." She would sometimes say when she wasn't able to catch anything. "Shall we hunt together than? Maybe we'll have better luck together." Splitting up wasn't doing much as far as Rabbitstar knew so she thought maybe hunting in twos would change things. Might through off their sent a little, but who actually knew where and why the prey was gone. It seemed to happen not very suddenly and just gradually losing prey. At first Rabbitstar suspected the other Clans but peace was all around them; aside from them stealing from others, it was just strange.

Once she had heard Rabitstar's voice soften, she returned her gaze to the she-cat, feeling more realxed now. Honestly, Phoenixbreeze really liked her leader, she balanced herself well and treated the clan members fairly. Phoenixbreeze dipped her head and smiled. She wasn't one to talk very much, she always had enough on her mind to keep herself busy, but when it came to the clan she never slacked, she worked hard to prove herself, something she'd had to do since she was a kit adopted into the clan.
Shall we get together and hunt then? The question came to a shock to Phoenixbreeze, but she remained cool and collected. She looekd to Rabitstar, "It would be an honor to hunt with you, Rabitstar" She flicked her tail and thought for a minute. "I believe we should try to hunt near our borders with other clans though, don't get me wrong we aren't gong to cross them, but I guarentee there will be some prey hiding along the borders."
