Description:
Ivypaw looks similar to her two sisters, but is much lighter. She has a very light orange colored pelt with lighter orange stripes. At a first glance she looks almost a cream color, but take another glance and you see the faint color of orange in her pelt. Like Cloverpaw, she has a few patches of brown close to her tail, but not on her back. She inherited her mother’s very short fur, which Ivypaw doesn’t mind at all. It makes grooming much easier without all the long fur. She is an average sized cat, just a bit smaller than Cloverpaw. Thankfully she isn’t anywhere near as small as Hollykit, or as sickly. And to continue on with the family tradition, she has eyes similar to her sisters. Ivypaw’s aren’t quite as dark as her sisters, she has more of a bluish color mixed in with the green. They are more green than blue, but the blue is quite apparent.
Personality:
Ivypaw is a bit more quiet, and less outspoken than Cloverpaw. She is very shy and rarely talks to others, unless they have come into the den for something. The apprentice has never been very talkative, or said much about what has happened to the majority of her family.
She loves both of her sisters, and is always worried about Hollykit. She enjoys spending time with her baby sister, and keeps her in the medicine cat den with her a lot to keep an eye on her. Ivypaw has a good level of patience, which really helps when it comes to trying to teach Hollykit new things, or dealing with sick cats. She also enjoys spending time with Cloverpaw, especially when her sister goes with her to help collect herbs. This is when the two apprentices talk, and probably the only time you will ever hear Ivypaw talk so much.
She is very kind and is willing to help in any way she can. Though she may be quiet, she does talk to her patients.
History:
[/color][/size]Ivypaw was born into SunClan with three other siblings in her litter. Her parents names were Lightstep, and Grasshopper. Her brother, Leafkit was the oldest of the kits, then came Cloverkit, then herself, and then finally was her brother, Poppykit. The four were always together, and enjoyed eachother's company. Greencough spread through the camp, and her younger brother caught it. Poppykit died within a few days of having the disease. This sent fear through the other three kits, even though Poppykit was the youngest, he had been the strongest.
After a couple more moons, Leafkit and Cloverkit became Leafpaw and Cloverpaw. Ivykit had always been a bit different than her siblings, and wanted to help kits like her dead brother. So a half-moon after her siblings were made apprentices, she was made the new medicine cat apprentice. This was exciting news for the young cat.
Soon Ivypaw found out her mother would be having another litter of kits.
Unfortunately Leafpaw and their father, Grasshopper, did not get a chance to see the new litter of kits. Grasshopper was the mentor of his son, and the two went out on a border patrol two moons before the kits were to be born. Unfortunately they were killed by rogues, and with the shock of losing her mate and son, Lightstep had the kits a moon early. There were five kits in this litter. Lightstep was only able to name them before she died from too much blood loss. She named the oldest kit Grasskit, after his father. The second kit, a she-kit, was named Shinekit. The third kit, another tom, was named Poppykit, after her dead son from the previous litter. The fourth kit was named after she noticed him rolling around in the dirt. The last of the kits, the runt, was given the name Hollykit. Grasskit, Shinekit, Poppykit, Dirtkit, and Hollykit were all very small due to their premature birth. Two of the kits died no more than a day later, leaving Grasskit, Poppykit, and Hollykit the ones remaining. The remaining three were not expected to survive, especially Hollykit who suffered from not only being the tiniest of the kits, but also the one that didn't move around much at all. Several occasions the kit was thought to be dead, but she pulled through. Grasskit was the next kit to die, sharp winds came into the nursery, and the kit caught a horrible cold, something that wouldn't have been too much for any other kit, but for a premature kit it was deadly. Poppykit was mistaken by an apprentice for a mouse, since he looked identical to one, and was killed. Hollykit barely survived her first moon of life, and still struggles now, and Ivypaw is always by her side.
Ivypaw felt it was definitely her calling to be the medicine cat apprentice, Cloverpaw aswell. If it hadn’t been for Ivypaw taking care of Hollykit while Cloverpaw is training or doing apprentice duties, the kit would probably be dead long before now. She knew she belongs as the medicine cat apprentice, and doesn’t question it.
Less than a moon ago, Ivypaw was dealt another shock. Her mentor, Sniffwhiff, died tragically by running into a tree and smashing all the bones in his body. Ivypaw was speechless, she was now the sole medicine cat of SunClan at eight moons. She had only been given a moon and a half of training before her mentor had passed away. Luckily she has an excellent memory, so she did pretty well when it came to memorizing herbs. With StarClans help, she is still in training but is the only medicine cat the clan has. Since she is still training, she refuses to receive her full medicine cat name. She says she will only consider it when she feels she is ready, which will probably be around the same time Cloverpaw receives her warrior name. She does, however, have help every now and then. When Hollykit isn't sick, the little kit will help her out, and with Hollykit being sick so often her little sister knows the herbs and what they are used for.
