I thought I would say something about this, having read a lot about cats in my life time.
Calico cats are FEMALE. Maybe we should state somewhere that calicos are only female. It's very rare to have a male calico and we have several and maybe one calico female. I feel like maybe this should be watched. Any calico males are normally sterile.
The reason for this is a genetic thing that I don't know how to explain, but this does. - vetmedicine.about.com/od/catbreed1/f/FAQ_calicocats.htm
If you want a MALE calico it's called a tortoiseshell and it can have white marks because it is not white based like the calico is.

I would say the already accepted calicos are fine and that it should just go in the shop as something you can buy.

Exactly what i did. Cats that are accepted are fine, and wip cats dont have to be bought but have to be.. you know sterile. But new cats must follow the new rules!
