The sun was high as I prowled this way and that, searching for something to do. It didn’t mattered what I was doing, so long as I was moving. My paws thumped the ground in an ever louder rhythm as I picked up that slow walk to a feline gallop. Muscles bunched and relaxed as I jumped over rocks and logs. The sun beat down on my back. Sure, it wasn’t as hot as the day before, but I was a longer haired cat and this was boiling to me. I could feel my skin burning and a low rumbling sound echoed in my chest as I found a nearby bush to claim as a resting place. I laid my weight down under it and waited for a moment. I could hear the soft, wild beat of a rabbit’s heart. It was close by. My head turned this way and that, trying to catch the sound. There! In the bushes just to my left. It was trying to hide from me. That wasn’t about to happen. I rose, looking like I didn’t know it was there and then, I pounced. It squealed as I landed on it, killing it with a quick blow.
It was a nicely sized rabbit. It looked like it could have fed two or three warriors and that was if they were always active. I could only imagine how many elders or apprentices it would feed if it needed to go that far. My tail was raised high as I dug a hole big enough for the darn thing and covered it quickly; making sure it was still under the bush it had been hiding from me in. My steps were light as I headed back out into the blazing glow of that great ball in the sky. I wasn’t sure how long I would last out here, but work needed to be done and I was willing to do it. Feeding the clan was a high priority in my book and I wasn’t about to forget that. Panting hard, I moved further through the hills, looking for something more to hunt up. A puddle of fresh rain water came into view and I stopped by it, dipping my head down I lapped up the water in greedy gulps. I hated being over heated like this, but I couldn’t let those I was loyal to down with bring back food.
Raising my head once more I scanned the world around me with quick glances here and there. I saw it. A field mouse was cleaning its paws and just waiting to get itself caught. Without thinking about the fact that I would have wet paws, I walked through the puddle and crouched down. The mouse turned its nose to the wind and that was all it took. I turned and saw my great mass. I pushed off the ground running at it, but it scurried away and down into a hole. I snarled as I moved back to the puddle, gulping down more water before laying in the shade of a nearby tree. I sprawled there and dropped my head down onto my paws. I could have fallen asleep on this warm day, hidden away in the shade. I enjoyed it here, but I knew I couldn’t sleep without making myself venerable. I was sure there was someone out there who might like to play a dirty trick on me. At the same time, it could just be a bought of paranoia that had be thinking such things. It was just better that I stay awake and stare out at the world for a moment.

He wasn't planing on hunting today, he had done his fair share of catching eagles and mice this moring on a early hunting partol. Flicking his tabby ears back and forth he slowed down and sniffed the air. He could smell so much frogs, mice, vole. It made his mouth watery at the thought of his teeth sinking into it. Smiling he ran a little futher up the hill until he saw Silverpool under a shadey tree. She looked as pretty as always and looked like the perfact person to play a little joke on.
Hoping she didn't see him with her lovely, pretty amber eyes that sometimes made Eagletalon go a little crazy, he sneaked around until he was behind the tree. Letting out a small laugh he jumped out at her. "Boo!" Eagletalon laughed flicking his ears watching Silverpool react in the way he was hoping.
"Hello, dear Silverpool. Hope I didn't scare ya." Eagletalon said with a wide grin as always. He liked Silverpool, a lot. She was very pretty and very kind, but very calm something Eagletalon lacked of.

I hated the heat; the blaze of the sun against my long coat was torment. I wondered how hot it got in the nursery with all those kits, queens and visitors. My ears flattened at the idea and I lounged on my side, enjoying the cool of the shade. It was slowly being eaten up by harsh light and I knew I had, but a few more moments before it would be all but gone. That would be a shame, yes, but then it would motivate me to get back to hunting and taking care of the clan that I had promised myself I would. They had taken me in without thought to where I came from and that was what really mattered to me. I was dwelling in my thoughts when I should have been paying attention, but I just couldn’t seem to keep my mind focused on anything right now other than the fact that I wasn’t boiling for just this minute. No matter how hard I tried my peace from it didn’t last long. I closed my eyes. Savoring my last few seconds here before contemplating rising and being on my way. That was until I get a very pleasant surprise.
I rose and turned on Eagletalon, surprise and fright high in my pale jade eyes. I glared at him, plump tail lashing from side to side for, but a moment. I couldn’t stay mad at him long and soon, I resigned myself to a sigh and paced forward to rub my head lovingly against his chest. My tail flicked from side to side, a sign that I was still mildly annoyed with my mate, but I would soon get over that and be willing to devote my attention to him. Somehow, I just couldn’t stay mad at this tom for long and that was something that pleased me day after day. “Oh, my love, I’m used to your antics by now.” I scoffed lightly, a secret smile curling my lips while sparkling eyes danced with a love that had never been mine till I’d met him. He was my one and only, or so I hoped.

She glared at him making him feel a little bad for jumping out at her. But all that faded when she came forwarded and rubbed her pretty head agaist his strong chest. It made him feel warm where she was rubbing. He grinned down at her as she said, 'Oh, my love, I’m used to your antics by now.' Eagletalon's grin turned into a huge beam with these words. He loved it when she called him 'love'. It made him feel warm and right inside. Purring he said, "I must be losing my touch then."
Sitting down he looked around the area his mate had been hanging out in. He titled his head trying to figur why she was all the way out here. "So, why is my little Buttercup doing all the way out here?" Eagletalon asked winking at Silverpool. His heart twisted as he watched her. She was so pretty and it surprised him at times that she picked him to be her mate. She picked the stupid, silly tom to be hers, why would some she-cat do that? Specially since she could have any tom and she picked him. Eagletalon had asked himself many times.

I soft purr of a chuckle rolled form my throat as I watched him with those emerald eyes of mine. I came around to side and sat down lightly, leaning my weight against him in the most loving of ways. My tail flicked around, wrapping around my paws. It managed to brush one of his and it seemed I always wanted to be close to him. Touching him on as many places as I could without crawling under his skin. I blame his humor for why I fell in love with him. I wasn’t sure if he knew that, but I always let him know that I cared about him in as many ways as I could. “No, I’ve just come to realize that you’ll always be a kit at heart.” I teased him lightly, lifting my head to rasp my tongue against his cheek. Whenever I thought about that, I always wonder about what would happen if kits really did come into our lives? It’s not that it made me nervous to think that he might still act like a kit. I wasn’t sure that this was true and even if it was, I would always love him and that was all that mattered.
Watching him was probably one of my favorite pastimes. I sighed lightly and glanced away, content to just laze about right here for a little while longer. His question stirred me from my near doze and I glanced up at him, “I was hunting and then I got too hot, so I’m taking a break.” I smiled sheepishly before turning those jade eyes to the expense of ground before us. I rose a moment later and padded forward, out into the sun. “Coming, darling?” There was a soft, tempting drawl to my voice as I walked toward the puddle I had been at earlier. It wasn’t far from my shaded place, but I wanted to lay in it you could say. I flopped down into the water, splashing it up about me. It soaked my marbled coat, but that was okay. I was nice and cool now and gazing at the one I cared for most.

She made him feel right inside and relax his busy mind. He purred at her as she meowed in a teasing way, 'No, I’ve just come to realize that you’ll always be a kit at heart.' Eagletalon chuckled at her words. He was a true kit at heart and he knew that very well. He was surprised this moon after Sparrowdash had died that he the silly, flirty one became Deputy. It almost seemed as a joke when his name was called out. And Eagletalon had burst out laughing when his name was called. 'Great joke. Now whose the real Deputy?' he had asked making himself look like a fool. "I guess I'll have to go back to the nursery then." He joked.
Eagletalon flicked his ears as his mate told him how she got too hot. It was true, the weather today was dreadful for running about in or doing anything at all. It was boiling and he could feel himself sweating underneath his tabby pelt. Silverpool got up and meowed, 'Coming, Darling?'. Jumping up onto all four paws he grinned. "Wouldn't miss it."
Eagletalon watched his mate bathe herself in water. "Hmm. I think I'll stick to land." He meowed winking at her. But then before he knew it he found himself in the water splashing Silverpool.

A low mew of laughter flowed from my vocal cords as I rubbed my head against the curve of his neck. He was good for me. That was all I knew. He was so very sweet and well, I just had to keep my eye on him sometimes when he was in a group. Yes, I knew of his flirty nature, but I also knew that he only had eyes for me. It was funny to think that he was always kidding around. Maybe that was why we fit together so well. He had a sense of humor and I was calm as a lake’s surface on a sunny day. It made me think back on the day he’d been named as deputy. I’d about cracked up as well when they said his name, but I was better at hiding my emotions than he was. My lips had twitched with my amusement until I realized that our leader was serious. Well, that’s when I’d felt very prideful. My mate was making advancements in his life and that was what was good for him. I would always be here for him, through thick and thin. “Oh no. You’re much too big for the nursery. You’d give those little ones heart attacks.”
Eagletalon was easy to please and that was probably one of the things I enjoyed most about him. He followed after me like a duckling. Even if he was much too large, it was funny and cute. Sweet where so many felines would have rather seduced their mate, he just wasn’t like that and it was something that seemed nicer than always been seduced. At his words, a delighted laugh rose from my throat and lingered on the air around us. Yes, he was what made my world go round. As I lay in the water however, I was mildly disappointed that he wouldn’t join me. Yes, I knew most cats avoided water, but when it was this hot? I would much rather cool myself off. That lasted all of a few moments though because then he was in the water with me, splashing around. I rose quickly and laughed with delight, splashing water back at him. “Dry land huh? Well, this isn’t very dry.” I teased, ducking my head as more water came my way. This was definitely how love was supposed to be. Love was supposed to be acting like a little one every now and again.

You’re much too big for the nursery. You’d give those little ones heart attacks.' Silverpool meowed making Eagletalon let out a low chuckle which made him shake just a little. He sometimes couldn't understand why his heart burnt for this she-cat. The she-cat who a moon ago he joking around and flirted with her. Yes, last moon he found her very pretty and very his type and at that moment he decided he wanted her. Eagletalon didn't know what made her pick him but she picked him. "Aw. But they do need a good scare once in a while." He meowed flicking her nose with his long, tall tail.
Eagletalon was probably one of the easiest cat you could find. He was care free and happy to follow and that's mostly why he followed Silverpool around. Silverpool though unlike most she-cats didn't seem to mind Eagletalon following her around, in fact he believed she quite enjoyed watching the Tom do these things.
His paws hit the water as a huge wave came at Silverpool. Eagletalon laughed his big bellow laugh as his mate meowed, 'Dry land huh? Well, this isn’t very dry.' Eagletalon winked as he splashed some more. "I didn't want to disappoint you." He purred not caring that the water around him was soaking every hair on him. As a kit he never had a problem with water but since joining RockClan he began Leaving the water alone
