-March 8th- It was a warm night. Grass swept to the side as the slid warm breeze covered the land. A cold moon glared. No clouds where in the sky, Starclan seemed happy, maybe today would be a good day for the moonpool meeting. Star's glistened in the night sky. The Warrior ancestors were indeed watching over their medicine cat's.

The light orange pelted medicine cat could hardly believe that it was already the half-moon. It seemed like just yesterday she was at the gathering, seeing some of the cats she would soon see tonight. Time really had flown by quite fast. For once, Ivypaw was actually excited to get out of camp. This would be the fourth time she had come to the Moonpool, thought it was the first time without her mentor, and each time it was becoming more familiar.
She was able to go without worrying about her little sister, Hollykit, would be fine. Ivypaw instructed Cloverpaw to keep a close eye on her, knowing the kit was quite mischievous, and also taught Cloverpaw few herbs just in case the kit became feverish. It was so different than camp, and she liked how calm it seemed. She remembered last moon how her mentor would check up on her every now and then, it made her feel like she wasn't just a nuisance. It had soothed her, but now she was traveling alone, and would have to face it by herself.
Knowing that she would be the youngest medicine cat there, and possibly younger than some of the medicine cat apprentices, she needed to stop her nerves from taking over. She wasn't going to make it like her first time she had come to the Moonpool, nearly falling over her paws every two steps. This would be another first for her, but she would do fine, she was sure. Ivypaw was still reluctant to receive her full medicine cat name, wanting to be a little older and more experienced. When Cloverpaw became a warrior, then she would consider having her full name. That would be a good idea, the sisters could be named somewhat together.
After traveling for quite some time, she finally reached her destination. Ivypaw felt much more at ease, now that she was here. She wanted everyone else to hurry and arrive so that she could get back home. Being the only medicine cat in her clan, she was stretched quite thin. Everything was up to her, and she had to get it right. She was worried about everyone, and hoped nothing would go wrong.

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYESif ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP Zestypaw walked quickly to where he was going to meet the other medicine cats. He was on his own this half moon and for once he felt very alone. His mentor couldn't make it, far too busy fussing over the newborn kits to have time to go. And so he offered to go instead. She looked surprised at this and sounded worried. But he was 8 moons old now and could do things on his own without having to worry about. Seeing Starclan was something he always loved doing and he didn't mind his mentor not coming. It was a test for him and he wanted to prove himself.
The dark night sky was clear of clouds but it did have the sparkly stars shining down on him, just like his real mother would be doing. Smiling. Shaking his head he tried to clear his mind. He didn't want to go in there with the thought of his mother, though he could not remendber the smell of her nor her looks. Infact the tom had never seen her as his eyes were closed when she died.
Going to the spot where they were meeting he saw Ivypaw medicine cat of Sunclan. He wondered when she was going to get her full name, she had been the medicine cat for a while now. Maybe she needed to ask Snowstar first. "Hello Ivypaw. Or, are you something else now?" He meowed greeting her with the dip of his head. Being the only tom apprentice he found it hard to fit in.

Moonpaw followed closely to what her mentor had said, but she was nervous, or maybe was it exited. She was not sure but her heart pounded as she entered new territory. Now the young cat knew she was nervous. ''Alright'', she whispered to her self. Moonpaw stayed very close to the border, and to her this land didn't look to different, well maybe the land, but she felt the same, not to scared now. She was though exited to go to her first official medicine cat moonpool meeting, though she would have to do it alone. She had no idea what would happen and who would be there, she did not truly know the other medicine cats, he would meet them today though.
Moonpaw wondered if it was that fun to be a mentor, well she would know some day. Moonpaw smiled, she was so exited to meet the other cats, and when they she started to run she felt even more excitement. it was so wonderful to see them. Moonpaw had not seen so many medicine cats together, never! She didn't know most of them so she dipped her head as they each came. She was sad as her mentor was not here, but what can ya do? Moonpaw also wondered what exactly they would do here and to learn each cats name. Plus she would love to met the apprentices. ''Hi Im Moonpaw, and this is my first time here, My mentor could not come though, he had to do something''. Moonpaw paused, maybe she had said to much, but she waited, the two cats here seemed young too, she wondered why.

[bg=020202][atrb=border,0,table][atrb=width,500,table] Walking along the extreme edge to the border of Rockclan, so distinctively covered with their odor, it was all to evident that the gray pelted she-cat who slunk through its path was uncomfortable with the thought of leaving her own clan's territory; she did not invest too much of the time in worrying though, for she knew that the ancestors in Starclan would be watching over all medicine cats tonight. Her head tilted back every now and again, taking in the vast expanse of the sky. As she did so, her eyes would seem to light up, the flecks of green concealed within a faded brown flashing as if some sort of strange stars themselves. It was indeed a glorious night to be out under Silverpelt, with the slight breeze bringing a warm chill to shiver through the admiring cat's body, and not a cloud in sight, Fallingpebble could find nothing but good omens in this late hour of gathering.
Rounding a bush, she caught the reflection of the moon bouncing off of a surface that was clearly water, and knew that she had arrived at her destination. Not allowing her gaze to linger for too long on the rippled effect of a pale sphere, she lifted her nose slightly as the breeze brought to her the scent of the ones who had already come. Sunclan had been here the longest, the young medicine cat Ivypaw, unless she had recently received her full name; the next had been Frostclan, and the only tom currently present as well, Zestypaw; the third to come was Marshclan, and yet another young cat, Moonpaw, how... awkward. Fallingpebble was not used to being the eldest cat, most certainly that wouldn't mean that they would all look to her. No, that wouldn't happen, it couldn't, she was barely a year over the age of most of them, it just wasn't plausible that such a thing would occur.
Taking a calming breath, the momentarily nervous cat calmed herself; she was over thinking things, it wouldn't do any good to linger in places of time that were not to be useful in the future. Advancing in the direction in which the she-cat had thought the smell had come from, she caught the faint hint of a cat's shadow. Unsure in this light whether or not this was a true living creature, Fallingpebble decided it would be better for all of them if she said something to encourage a response to help guide her way. "Hello...?" The volume of her voice could not be described as anything but so much as slightly over the sound of a whisper, yet there was some quiet confidence spoken over the inquiry, declaring her right as some sort of authority in the ranks.

The tuxedo she-cat looked around, it seemed everyone was here. Moonpaw looked at the last cat that arrived, she wondred why the cat looked around like that.Moonpaw shook her head , she wanted to ask if Fallingpebble was blind, but she didnt want to be mean. Plus she was a new apprentice, she had to respect a older cat. ''Hi! But we dont want to be late. lets go!'', Moonpaw was exited, plus she liked being around other apprentices. The she-cat smiled and followed the older cats, she wondered why the toms seemed so grumpy, and why most medicine cat's where she-cats? Was there a reason for that? She smiled, she knew it would a special day in her life, but she did want to talk to them. The smaller she-cat slowed down and dipped her head. ''Hi guys, So have you guys been to the moonpool before?'', she smiled at Ivypaw and Zestypaw, she wondered if they where friends already. Oh ya and how far did they have to go? The young she-cat noticed how beautiful the night sky was, well not only that, the way all four clans came together in the resemblance of the medicine cats, and no fights. Maybe she thought to much but Moonpaw thought this was very special.

Well, it was a warm night, that was a plus. The sky was clear of any clouds and the moon glared down at the Clans while the stars twinkled brightly. A beautiful night for leaf-fall, that was for sure. But even despite that it was still leaf-fall and that mean herb stashes would be low and stay low if not disappear till new-leaf. Leaf-fall signaled leaf-bare was soon to come, lovely. The black and white tom thought. It was the worst season next to leaf-bare most definitely.
Batnose, MarshClan's medicine cat, had sent out his apprentice in front of him because he needed to take care of a few things first. It would be a good lesson for her, to go out to the moonpool by herself. Batnose remembered the first time he had to go on his own, he was a nervous wreck and stuttered like a scared kit. It was pathetic and he didn't want a repeat of himself. He wondered what the others would say about him sending Moonpaw alone? Well, he would probably get comments on it, good or bad he wasn't sure.
The medicine cat padded out of the camp and padded towards the moonpool. They lived fairly close to the moonpool, unlike FrostClan and SunClan. Batnose was happy about that because it never felt right to be away from the camp for too long. Every half moon was the same though. The same path, the same cats and the same trip home. He liked the consistency. He was very much a routine type tom, so when he was given an apprentice he had some things to change. Batnose didn't like change one bit and the thought of it even more. He shook his mind clear and moved quicker towards the moonpool.
He caught site of the other cats, Ivypaw, Zephrypaw, Fallingpebble and his apprentice, Moonpaw. What he couldn't see was Zephrypaw's mentor, Willownight. He also didn't see Hazelpaw anywhere, Fallingpebble's apprentice. Though, Hazelpaw could just simply be out of his line of sight. Either way, he hoped that they missing a medicine cat meeting was more important than the meeting. "Everyone." He nodded his greeting to the cats and proceeded to catch up with Moonpaw.

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYESif ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP Zestypaw was getting ready for let's say a peaceful meeting until he saw Moonpaw running up. Sighing he looked at the new apprentice. She was young. Six moons old he was guessing and worst of all... She couldn't wait to get inside. That sort of cat REALLY annoyed Zestypaw in a way no one would understand. Zestypaw just didn't like happy she-cats who bounce along and act like there's nothing wrong with their lives. 'Hi Im Moonpaw, and this is my first time here, My mentor could not come though, he had to do something.' Moonpaw said making Zestypaw flick his ears in surprise. A new apprentice show NEVER be expected to go on her own. Even if her mentor was busy. "Joy." Zestypaw meowed beginning to feel too old to a be an apprentice. "I'm Zestypaw. And there's no point in getting worked up about the first time. Your bond to be here the next and the next and so on."
"Hello...?" Zestypaw heard someone meow. Turning round he saw Fallingpebble. Joy. Another she-cat who couldn't see a mouse in front of herself. He was beginning to wish that Batnose HAD come along. They were the only male Medicine Cats and Zestypaw was feeling out of place now with the she-cats around him. "Well then." Zestypaw said jumping up to go in. "That's all of us so how about- But before he could say anything Moonpaw cried, 'Hi! But we dont want to be late. lets go!' Uh. It was going to be a long night....
Zestypaw walked along side Ivypaw letting Fallingpebble lead the way. Zestypaw didn't really talk much unless he had to. 'Hi guys, So have you guys been to the moonpool before?' Moonpaw asked. Zestypaw flicked his ears as he watched Fallingpebble move forth. "Yes. This is my third time." Zestypaw grumbled trying to keep up. "Let me just give you a warning before we go in; you have to be quiet."
'Everyone.' Some cat meowed and Zestypaw looked over his shoulder to see Batnose. The only other male medicine cat.

I should have stayed home. I was lagging behind because of my injury, but I was being stubborn. I pushed onward with sharp steps. It was depressing to know that my nearly blind mentor could walk faster than me. I was shame faced when I found all this out. I picked up my pace, loping after her as quickly as my body would take me. Upon entering the Moon Gathering, I glanced around. I didn’t know anyone here. Well, I knew their names, but I didn’t know them personally. Keeping my head low, I walked through the crowd, only just realizing that I had lost sight of my mentor. I did however notice the big group of apprentices all standing together and talking. My ears pricked forward and I drew in a slow breath. I could do this. I was a brave she-cat. I’d lived through all the odds. I could do this. Setting my jaw I walked towards them with a confident step. I didn’t care that my bellyached in an awful way and I was sure if I so much as said a word about it, they would think I’d just eaten something bad. Sure, the wound was healed for the most part, but the scar remained.
Coming to a halt before them, I tried on my best smile. “Hello. I’m Hazelpaw.” I was more than positive that they all knew each other, but I could deal with that. I slowly followed them into the cave and looked around at each and every one of them. I felt sorry for the two toms among us. I wasn’t sure why it seemed like most Medicine Cats and their apprentices were female. Maybe one day I would find out that answer. Without saying another word, I walked until I was just a few paces behind Fallingpebble. Sure, I was excited and all, but I knew this would become something I did often. Being silent was easy for me. I’d learned to be quiet long ago and it just wasn’t that hard for me to do anymore. After all, I did like to hang out in the nursery when I had free time, which I almost never did, but that was okay.

Batnose looked at Hazelpaw, the last to arrive and followed Zephrypaw toward the moonpool. It was nice to have another tom medicine cat around and before Zephrypaw came, Batnose was the only tom in the medicine cat gathering. It was sometimes nerve raking and other times he just didn't want to be there. They were all she-cats and sometimes he just wanted a little tom time. He liked she-cats and kits and all that other she-cat type things but he was a tom and he was tired of just being around she-cats. Feeling a bit relieved that Zephrypaw was there, Batnose relaxed a little, but it was Moonpaw that made him fully relax.
"Ar-ar-are we going?" He asked, stuttering. He voice was gentle though, and a little pushy too. He walked forward hoping to get to speak to StarClan sooner than later. He had questions for them and he wanted answers. Like what was MarshClan supposed to do with their dwindling prey and what he was going to do with leaf-bare so close and sickness even closer. He yellow eyes saddened at the thought of his Clan dying before his eyes. He couldn't let that happen.
He pushed through till he was close enough to get his paws wet in the moonpool. He looked behind him for Moonpaw but proceeded to pick his spot around the pool. He nestled himself down and waited for the rest of the cats to settle themselves down before he closed his eyes and went to dreamland with StarClan.

Moonpaw followed everyone now, hoping they where not to late, well she wondered even if they where that Starclan would speak to them. She was young and still learning. But these are the questions that she has always wondered. Going in Moonpaw looked around, everything was so beautiful, and bright. The pool reflected the moon. The apprentice was so surprised, but she had to get to work. Following her mentor she watched what she had to do, then found a comfortable place, sat down, and looked at the water, nervous. Oh Starclan what will you tell me?, she closed her eyes and slipped down, her nose to the water...
Moonpaw felt no different, she thought the rock did not work. She opened her eyes, Moonpaw noticed she was not in the moonpool anymore, it was a beautiful clearing! She jumped up, when on earth could she be? Moonpaw did not think she had ever seen this place. The apprentice went to move, but something started to show. At first Moonpaw was afraid that it was a dog. But as he or she got closer Moonpaw could see it was a cat, and one that she has not seen before. He was huge, and grey, with fierce blue eyes. Moonpaw dipped her head, she must be talking to a starclan cat, she could fell it, and well he looked like it too.
"Hello young Moonpaw'', the young she-cat turned her head, who could this be? She had never met some one like him? Could he be a far cousin? Or just some Warrior from her clan?. ''My name is Ravenstep, I am your grandfather'', Moonpaw's eyes grew huge, she could still not speak, she could see it now, he looked a like her dad. Moonpaw was so happy to meet him, but what was he here for?. ''I have not come here for light talk young medicine cat, I have something very important to show..''
Moonpaw could feel something bitter, something didnt fell right, she stepped forward, one small paw out, her eyes pleading, ''What is it Grandpa?''. It felt wider to say that, but he was her grandfather, plus she was so curious, what could be wrong? Was it a murder? a flood? The tom started to walk and flicked his tail, the female followed. They where in another clan now, the cats looked hungry and skinny. But no one could see them. It was Marshclan, her clan. Moonpaw didnt know what to say, the cats looked so hungry, so sad, so desperate, more than she ever had thought. ''They are hungry..''.
As she tuned to look at her grandpawhe started to fade, Moonpaw didnt want him to go, but he said something, Moonpaw could barely hear it. "Your clan is starving, what will you do?".
Moonpaw started to wake up now, she felt funny, like something bad is gonna happen. Plus the word her grandfather said made her fell all wrong inside. Looking around she wondered what everyone had dreamed about, was it happy? or just as mysterious as her own dream? Plus Moonpaw new Lilypool was having her kits any day, what would happen with their clan?.

As the cats began to appear, Ivypaw greeted each of them. How was she going to cope without her mentor? This was a bit nerve-wrecking. Usually she cowered behind her mentor and watched Snakefoot deal with all the other cats, she just nodded to them. But now, she would have to do this solo. Maybe she should have brought someone to help boost her spirits tonight. That would have been a brilliant idea if she had thought of it before now. It was far too late now. She was glad to see there was new medicine cat blood. That had been her not that many moons ago. Maybe she would take an apprentice on herself when she becomes a little older, she would need to. Hollykit was a good helper, but Ivypaw didn't think the kit would choose to become her apprentice. Hollykit was wanting to become a warrior, though maybe the kit would consider it for a few moons, just so she could have some help. And her sister knew all the herbs, probably better than her. She would talk with the kit later, for now the Moonpool was becoming closer.
Ivypaw's gaze turned to Zestypaw, he had been an apprentice for nearly the same amount of time as herself, she was barely a moon ahead of him. "No, I'm still Ivypaw. It doesn't feel right to receive my full name until I have completed my training." she mewed softly. She didn't mind him walking alongside her, it was actually quite refreshing to have someone her own age, other than her sister, being around.
After they reached the Moonpool, the she-cat sighed as she made her way and settled down alongside the water. It was so peaceful here, and she liked it. No one needed her attention, or anything. Maybe her little sister was helping out anyone sick. She hoped Hollykit wouldn't have to deal with much of it.
No sooner had she fallen asleep, than when the dream began.
The warm scent of the nursery filled the air and she could have sworn she was a kit again. Blinking her eyes open, she wasn't in the nursery but in unfamiliar territory. Cats were skin and bones, and everything looked so dreary and dreadful. Wait, this wasn't her clan! But she did recognize a few of the cats, where was she?
Padding around camp, the nursery smell became overwhelming. The pale ginger she-cat turned around and she couldn't help but let out a mewl of delight. "Mother!" Ivypaw exclaimed, racing toward the she-cat. This had been the first time the young she-cat had seen her mother since her death three moons ago.
Lightstep looked at her daughter, and she couldn't be more proud. "I'm glad to see you are well my sweet Ivypaw." the deceased queen said softly, rubbing her muzzle against her daughter's head. "This may not be SunClan, but MarshClan is starving. What will SunClan do to help them?"
She turned to leave, and leave Ivypaw to wake, but she paused. "You have done well taking care of Hollykit. Thank you, I know it is hard taking care of her while taking care of the entire clan, but I couldn't be more proud of you. Let her know I love her and I will always be with her. I never was able to see her grow, but I will always be watching her aswell as you and Cloverpaw. I'm proud of all of you. Your father and I can't wait to see all three of you grow. Continue to do well my sweet daughter." Lightstep purred, brushed her muzzle against her daughter one more time before departing.
Ivypaw awoke, and the smile was still on her face. She had seen her mother! And her mother was proud of her! She would tell Hollykit, and always let Hollykit know about their mother. Sitting on her paws, she awaited for the other medicine cats, her mind still thinking of her mother.

The tom watched everyone gather around the moonpool to have their usual talk with StarClan. Tonight seemed most important though as he nestled down and closed his eyes. At first the tom couldn't find his way to sleep, he heard the other cats getting settled and leaves blowing around. Everything around him was loud and distracting but eventually he found his way to sleep.
He was within StarClan like all the times before. But the place was empty and no one seemed to be there. It was an odd feeling and Batnose felt nervous and uneasy again. He wanted to call out but his voice was gone and he sat there, paws shaking.
The image of a cat appeared in front of him moments after he arrived. Batnose didn't know who to expect or who it might be but it calmed him down a little bit. When the StarClan cat came into focus Batnose felt absolute relief. It was his mentor! But the last time Batnose had seen him, he was frail and sickly. Now the tom looked healthy and maybe a bit younger too. Batnose let out a purr and stood up. "It's about time you came to visit me." Batnose mewed, forgetting that maybe he had an important message to tell the tom.
"Batnose, I am not here for small talk. I am here to tell you and show you something." His mentor spoke in his usual calming tone which always made Batnose feel calmer. Batnose followed his mentor back into his own territory. He was looking at his Clan and they looked weak and starving. A few cats even looked like they were on the brink of death. The images frightened Batnose and he closed his eyes and shook the images away but his mentor still stood beside him.
"MarshClan will starve without the help of the other Clans. But it is the choice of MarshClan if they will ask and accept help or not." Batnose's mentor started to fade away and Batnose was speechless as always.
His eyes opened up and he was back at the moonpool. The omen StarClan had sent him was terrible and he wondered if his leader would ask for help or even accept it if it was given to them. He looked around for Moonpaw and saw her. He wondered if she was given the same dream. He got to his paws, not sure where to go from there.

YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR EYESif ten million fireflies lit upTHE WORLD AS I FELL ASLEEP As the group walked Zestypaw let his mind wonder. They were so near to the Moonpool that he was beginning to worry at what may happen. He knew very well that FrostClan is well, that prey was coming easy for them yet there had been a few sightings of prey stealing had there not? The thought of prey being stealed her glared at Moonpaw without her seeing him. She was from MarshClan and he knew very well at what her clan was playing at.
They didn't walk long before the huge cave of where the Moonpool came into view and Zestypaw glaced over his shoulder to make sure his mentor hadn't tagged along. Nothing. Hissing to himself he went in. The cave was always a cold place to be. The warm weather had changed into a cold air that made Zestypaw shiver. Brrr. He thought then glared down at the cold cave floor which he was meant to lie upon. Uh, there are times like this when I wished that I never had become a Medicine cat apprentice. He flicked his ears as he layed down next to the water of the moonpool. He took a lick of it before curling up into a tight ball praying to StarClan that the cold won't seep through his fur and into his bare self.
Zestypaw woke by a stream with big, fat fish swiming in it. His Stomarch growled at the sight of the sliver fish and Zestypaw found himself telling it to shut up. He looked around himself, where in stood was a place with hard, large stones and a fast flowing river. There wasn't a tree in sight and he began worrying at what he may be dreaming of. "Oi! Is anyone here?!" He yowled feeling quite annoyed at his StarClan dream. "Why must I get the rubbish one? About darn fish swiming about." He hissed to himself. "Hush young one."
[/i] A voice came behind him and he turned round to see a pretty grey and white she-cat. He narrowed his eyes at her then meowed. "I'm by no means young. And it's about time someone showed up, I was about to fall asleep."The she-cat rolled her eyes at him as she came nearer. "Please, hush and listen to me Zestypaw. I am Rainstar once leader of your clan."[/i] Rainstar meowed only making him roll his eyes again. "How lovely. Now what is it that your here to blah about? And be quick about 'cause I don't want to stay and chat." Zestypaw meowed getting a tad annoyed at the she-cat. Couldn't see hurry? "Fine. Follow me." She sighed and took him closer to the stream. "Look in there.[/i] Zestypaw couldn't help but glare at her as he went closer to the stream. He stared deeply into the stream seeing nothing. "OK, so. This is pretty cool huh? Nothi-" He bagan but stopped as a litter of kits appeared in the stream yowling and crying. ' Where's the food?! One yowled and Zestypaw felt a pain of anger at the kit who was dying of hunger. Where was the kit's food? What was going on... A queen near it was sobbing at a dead body of a kit before her and Zestypaw turned to look at Rainstar. "What does this mean?" He breathed. "You must pick. Help Marshclan or leave them? Either way lives will be lost..." And Rainstar began fading. Zestypaw woke with a jump. That... Those kittens were from MarshClan?
