The sun dipped low, falling down, signaling nighttime was approaching. The Great Lake reflected the sun within the water; it was a beautiful sight that was for sure. The water rippled in the cool leaf-fall breeze and leaves fell from the trees above, landing anywhere they could. The leaves were changing color rapidly. There were browns, golds, oranges, yellows, reds and still some greens all mixed together. Although leaf-fall meant leaf-bare was soon to come, no one could deny the beauty in leaf-fall. Even a hard shelled tom like Rainfrost couldn't deny its beauty.
His hard green eyes stared out onto the Great Lake. His mind was blank and he was in a trans-like state where there was no noise, images or anything really. But he was always doing that, staring off into only StarClan knows where. His gray pelt twitched him out of his state, causing him to lose focus on the lake. His mind went back to wondering as it usually did after realizing he wasn't doing anything but staring. He was a little bit bigger tom; muscles like his father, some would say. He definitely held the features of a tom cat easily. He was strong, though he didn't know how to quite use it yet.
He sighed, but not in boredom or irritation. It was almost a sad sigh, like something was missing. He wasn't a very social cat but watching everyone around him had family and mates, he just had friends. Like Ravenwing, she was pretty she-cat, and a great friend. Rainfrost liked having her company every once in awhile. Lacking his mother's attention and sometimes love, Ravenwing provided Rainfrost just that. She was a motherly she-cat and would make a great mother herself one day. He purred at the thought of Ravenwing having kits of her own, but it only lasted a moment, the purr, before his thoughts turned elsewhere.
He turned his head around and started to groom himself quickly, a habit he did when he felt awkward or uneasy. Even with no one around, Rainfrost still managed to feel awkward. Must be a talent. He thought. Or just simply pathetic. He wasn't usually so depressing, but it was only him, he wasn't bringing anyone else down.

An ebony she-cat slipped down the pathway she usually took to the Great Lake. Things where peaceful at this time in camp, she took the opportunity to slip away and enjoy some quiet among the lovely scenery. The changing colors of the leaves where always something she tried to look forward to, there was not much else during this time of year, with Leaf Bare coming and all. Her amber orbs trying to take everything in, almost all at once, each delicate paw-step after the other as she walked towards her destination. The sun dipping lower and lower giving a fiery look to the changed leaves high in the trees, it was amazing to look at although it could only hold the she-cats attention for long. For she soon realized that if she wanted to see the Great Lake at this time she was going to have to run, and take the time to view the sites later.
RavenWing paused and stared down the path, only a little more to go. Then the she-cat launched herself forward, easily making long strides. Her slender form was designed for speed, she was able to easily pivot around on her pawsone quick movement and pick up speed again if she wanted because of her light body frame. She would be there soon enough, and get to marvel at a sight that she thought could probably be as nearly as amazing as the sight of the stars in the Silver in Pelt at night. A few fallen leaves flew up past her paws, and she smiled, the she-cat loved this feeling of freedom. Though she slowed down as she neared the shores of the Lake skidding to a stop as usual.
She took in a deep breath then exhaled taking in that fresh air. She had stopped just a fox-length after the trees stopped growing. The ebony cat flicked her tail, amber orbs scanning the lake shore in all its beauty. Though her eyes stopped on the form of a cat she recognized. One of her friends, RainFrost, he was such a good friend and t only that a great cat as well. RavenWing walked towards him light paw-steps as usual not making to much noise. 'Look at him, grooming again? I don't think I've met a cleaner cat' she thought amused, a smile still painted across her pretty face. Though she was a little worried, why was he out here all alone, was something wrong? As soon as she got a only a couple paw-steps away she stopped and swallowed. "Hello RainFrost, what are you doing out here?" she asked cocking her head to the side, a playful tone seeping into her voice.

He wasn't startled but more surprised to see anyone else out here. He had left the camp to do some hunting but in reality he wanted to see the Great Lake and all the wonderful colors of the leaves that fell to the ground. He was going to make it a routine, to come out here every leaf-fall at least once to see the beautiful colors of not only the trees and leaves but also the sky. It was different hues of pinks, purples and reds. Beautifully stunning and could only really be appreciated fully in leaf-fall.
Rainfrost stopped grooming himself to look up and see Ravenwing, her black pelt shinning in the falling sun; that's how he seen her anyways. Feeling awkward as usual, Rainfrost nodded his agreement and sat their for a moment, just staring at the she-cat. He wasn't much of a "lover" and rarely thought about it, so when his stomach started to twist into knots around certain she-cat, Rainfrost usually just got overly quiet and stiff. His eyes hardened a little, sealing up any emotion he didn't want to show.
"Um..." He cleared his throat, "I am... I mean I was enjoying the view." He was looking directly at the she-cat, his hard green eyes shifting away for only a few seconds. He didn't enjoy starting conversations and much rather preferred others talking and him listening. He enjoyed listening to others. He was pretty good at it and it wasn't like he was going to go around and tell everyone their secrets either. That would put him into the spot light and there was no way he was going to allow that to happen. He hated being the center of attention and he was sometimes thankful for his parents not gushing over his accomplishments and smothering him.
"Are you here to see the beauty of leaf-fall?" It was his way of asking her to join him, indirectly of course. He didn't want to seem like he wanted her to stay because he didn't mind if she left. It would have been her choice, and he wasn't going to take her choices away from her or anyone for that matter. He drew his eyes back toward the water, not giving Ravenwing a second glance, feeling mouse-brained for staring at her for as long as he had.
For a moment he pretended what Ravenwing wasn't there and he closed his eyes, letting the soft breeze flow through his pelt, over his muscles. It gave him a shiver, bringing him back to Ravenwing and back to the Lake. For a moment he felt absolute peace and tranquility. It was a very she-cat-ish feeling that Rainfrost would never share with anyone, not even the she-cats he was friends with. What would they say if he told them he liked to watch sunsets in leaf-fall and simply take a quiet walk through the territory? Well, he didn't want to find out.
He looked over at his she-cat friend, smiled for a moment and turned back to the lake once more, waiting for her reply.

The black she-cat turned her eyes away from RainFrost for a moment and stared out across the lake, watching the hues change and beautiful colors swirl across the surface. Ripples shimmered over the surface as the wind blew by and leaves fell into the lake. In all chances it would be RainFrost here, she was glad it was one of her friends but it was surprising. Maybe not that surprising but maybe it could be called uncommon. Her tail flicked calming and she looked back at the tom. Always the same expression his green eyes, always distant or a hardened glare, although it took a lot more to make RavenWing feel uneasy. She took a few more paw-steps closer and perked up her ears to listen to him.
"Ah, then the same as me. " she stated, her amber orbs drifting off, looking around. She knew her friend and some of his tendencies, staying away from the crowds was one of them; she didn’t want to make him uneasy. Hearing his voice echoing into her ears again, she returned her gaze to his hard stare. “Yes I am… mind if I sit here?” she asked, padded over to his side, sitting down, and automatically curling her tail around her paws. As he looked back out to the water she followed his gaze before her own eyes drifted off onto watching the reflection of the clouds drifting across the sky. Her thoughts drifting away into a world of her own, when the she-cat had free time she allowed her mind to drift on the edges fantasy and reality. It couldn’t be a bad thing could it? No not at all.
She could just imagine herself running across the water, as if it looked like she was floating among the clouds. RavenWing certainly had lots of things on her mind, but allowing herself to drift off sometimes certainly let her stay with her carefree attitude, or least it let her keep up the façade of a carefree attitude. Although reality snapped her back at the feeling of the light breeze running through her fur became noticeable, it felt nice for one thing. She closed her eyes, content with the feeling, though as the breeze stopped she blinked her eyes open and flicked her ears back for a moment. Then she turned to look at the tom beside her.
She was just about his height; she didn’t have to look up thankfully. The ebony she-cat turned her head to look at their reflections and analyzed them for a moment. She never realized this but it was funny to look at RainFrost’s reflection next to hers. RainFrost and her may have been the same height but their sizes differed, she was obviously slimmer but it look like she had no strength at all, RainFrost on the other paw looked large and strong, a cat to be reckoned with. Although that was if you didn’t know the two cats, their appearances where, perhaps in most ways, deceiving.
Though she felt eyes on her pelt and she turned her head rapidly, expecting some other cat or some kind of enemy staring at her, but only saw RainFrost smiling at her then going back to… enjoying the view? She was about to say ‘yes?’ but it would have been rude. ‘No need to make him feel uncomfortable or anything so best I keep my jaws shut.’ She thought a slight smile returning to her face as she looked away from him and back out at the lake, feeling the breeze softly swirl through her fur again.

"Ah, then the same as me."
He was going to get up and leave, believing that Ravenwing wanted to be alone. Why else would anyone come out here alone in the first place? The prey was probably all nestled in their nests for the night, so there wasn't much for hunting. But Rainfrost definitely wanted to do some before he went back to camp. It was leaf-fall and there were bellies that needed to be fed. Rainfrost's mind stayed on the thought of hunting for a moment, wondering what he could catch tonight, when her voice cut in. He didn't mind it at all and was never irritated with Ravenwing. She was such a lovely she-cat and Rainfrost liked her company from time to time.
"Yes I am… mind if I sit here?"
Rainfrost never got a reply in before she sat down next to him, but as with most things, Rainfrost didn't mind. Her curled his own tail around himself, creating an invisible barrier that he usually did with everyone. Touching was odd for the grey tom. He felt awkward when even the medicine cat had to touch him. He just didn't like the feeling and sometimes refused treatment just to be left alone. But he was also jealous of the ones who had mates and siblings that they always sat so close to. He wanted what they had most definitely, but whether he would get that, he was pretty sure he wouldn't. It was like StarClan was going to let him die alone. If that was their wish though, Rainfrost couldn't do anything about it and he wasn't about to start now. Why do something about it when StarClan will do it themselves?
He looked at Ravenwing again, noticing the questioning expression on her face. He opened his jaws to say something but had second thoughts and forced himself to yawn. His eyes closed and everything around him went black. For a moment he wasn't there next to the lake with Ravenwing or anywhere in particular. He engulfed himself into the blackness but came back, with softer green eyes. The moonlight shone down on them now, but the sun could still easily be seen, still trying to poke over the horizon. It was like it didn't want to go away and leave everyone in complete darkness and was totally oblivious to the moon's presence. But Rainfrost was tired and everything he was thinking at that moment he would easily blame on him being tired.
"How was your day?" He asked. It wasn't usual for him to ask the questions but the silence was becoming awkward for Rainfrost and he wanted Ravenwing to start talking again. He liked listening to other speak and could listen all day if they really wanted him to. He could listen and do other things at the same time. He always liked to hear about others' problems, even if he couldn't do anything. Rainfrost just simply liked to listen to sound and although he liked the quiet too, it was always all ears when their was a voice to be heard.
